TL;DRThe short version

The binding text is below, but nothing in it will surprise you after reading these four.

Free, and no account

AirVA costs nothing and asks for nothing. There is no subscription, no trial and no card.

Your drawings are 100% yours

We claim no ownership and no licence over anything you draw. Sell it, publish it, tattoo it — no credit required.

Use it for commercial work

Client work, monetised videos, paid courses. All fine. You do not need our permission.

It is provided as-is

A free browser tool that depends on your camera and your lighting cannot promise perfection. Do not make it a single point of failure.

01What AirVA is

AirVA is a free, browser-based drawing tool. It uses your webcam to follow your hand so you can draw in mid-air, with no headset, stylus, tablet or install. It is operated by AirVA and reachable at getairva.com.

By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site — that is the entire enforcement mechanism, since there is no account to suspend.

02Your right to use it

We grant you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive right to use AirVA for as long as it is available. That covers:

  • Personal use — drawing, playing, learning.
  • Commercial use — client work, monetised videos, paid teaching. You keep everything you earn and owe us nothing.
  • Classroom and institutional use — no licence, no seat count, no permission request needed.

You do not need to credit AirVA, though we are glad when people do.

03Your drawings are yours

To be unambiguous, because plenty of free tools are not: we claim no ownership, no copyright and no licence over anything you create with AirVA. Not to display it, not to promote with it, not to train anything on it.

We could not claim it even if we wanted to. Your drawings are produced and exported on your own device and never reach our servers, as described in our Privacy Policy.

The guestbook is the one exception

If you post to the guestbook on our home page, you are asking us to publish it. By submitting you confirm the content is yours to share and you grant us a non-exclusive right to display it on the site. You may ask us to remove your entry at any time. We may remove entries that are abusive, illegal, spam, or someone else's work.

04Fair use

Short version: do not use AirVA to harm people or to break the site for everyone else. Specifically, do not:

  • Use it for anything illegal, or to create content that is illegal where you are.
  • Use it to harass, defame or impersonate anyone, or to produce sexual content involving minors.
  • Attack the service — automated scraping at volume, denial-of-service, or attempts to break into the site, its API or its database.
  • Post someone else's work to the guestbook as your own, or use it for advertising.
  • Present AirVA as your own product, or imply we endorse or partner with you when we do not.

Studying the site in your own browser, writing about it, or building something better after using it are all fine. Curiosity is not abuse.

05Availability and change

AirVA is free, which means it comes with no uptime guarantee. We may change features, redesign the interface, or take the service down temporarily or permanently, without notice and without liability to you.

We try hard not to break things people rely on, and in practice the tool improves far more often than it regresses — but if a deadline depends on AirVA working at a particular moment, export early and keep a fallback. That is honest advice, not a disclaimer.

06Warranties

AirVA is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Concretely, we do not warrant that hand tracking will be accurate in your lighting, that it will work with your particular camera or browser, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that exports will always succeed. Gesture recognition through a consumer webcam depends on conditions we cannot see or control.

07Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AirVA and anyone working on it will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost work, lost data or lost opportunity, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Since AirVA is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim relating to it is limited to zero, or the minimum the law of your country allows if it does not permit that.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. Where that is the case, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing here removes a right you have that cannot be waived.

08Third-party services

AirVA runs in your browser and depends on services we do not control — your browser and its camera permissions, your operating system, your network provider, and the hosting and analytics providers named in our Privacy Policy. Their terms govern their own behaviour and we are not responsible for it.

Pages on this site sometimes link elsewhere. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what is on the other end.

09Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at AirVA's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence gives you stronger rights, those rights are unaffected and take precedence over anything here.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable part is applied to the maximum extent allowed.

10Changes and contact

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page always reflects the current version, and continuing to use AirVA after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be flagged rather than slipped in.

Anything unclear, or something here that reads unfairly? Write to support@getairva.com.
